I explore the boundary between abandonment and preservation; the intersection of personal stories and broader histories; tangible objects and the intangible narratives they suggest.
Graffiti has become visual source material for my most recent work. I am drawn to both its narrative anonymity and relative spontaneity. I translate graffiti literally--with spray paint--and abstractly, through complex designs developed in Photoshop and digitally printed.
As with much of my work, it is a mix of past and present.
